Associate Insurance Advisor
VSF Partners is a growing financial advising firm working with families and entrepreneurs on insurance, investments, tax, retirement, and estate strategies.
We are seeking an insurance advisor who values doing it right: it’s not about how many clients you can serve, but about serving each client well.
Our client base continues to grow, and we are expanding the team to match it.
Pay
- Salary: $45,000 to $50,000 a year
- Individual commission structure
- Quarterly bonus structure based on team targets
This role is probably for you if
- You’re LLQP licensed and you know the work: needs analysis, underwriting, policy delivery, ongoing service.
- You’re at your best sitting across from a client, listening closely, figuring out what they actually need, what they don’t need, and why.
- You take pride in a file being right. Complete application, clean underwriting, nothing missed at delivery.
- You enjoy working in a small office with like-minded, dedicated people.
- Prospecting is the part that drains you. Cold outreach, networking rooms, chasing referrals. You’ve done it, and it’s never been where you shine.
- You’d rather earn a stable income doing excellent work than have your income depend on how many strangers you can convert this month.
Prospecting and advising are two different skills. A lot of very good advisors only ever got hired for one of them. If that’s been your experience, we’d like to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Take insurance cases from recommendation through underwriting to policy delivery, working with our existing client relationships.
- Prepare for and take part in client meetings, then own the follow-through.
- Work alongside our advisors on case preparation and financial strategy.
- Help us sharpen our internal processes, tools, and client communications as we grow.
Your first year
One of our team members is going on maternity leave, and for roughly a year you’ll carry much of her workload. It is the fastest possible immersion in how we work. You’ll touch every stage of the client journey, with advisors and insurers from week one.
To be clear about what comes next: this is a permanent, full-time position, not a contract. When she returns, you stay, moving fully into your long-term role as an insurance advisor with a client base already in front of you.
What we’re looking for
- LLQP licensed
- Experience in insurance, investments, banking, or financial services. This is genuinely valued here.
- Fluent in English and French
- Comfortable in Outlook and Excel, and unbothered by learning new systems
- Organized and thorough enough to hold several live files at once without dropping any
- Able to work independently, but happy to be part of a team
What we offer
- A full pipeline of existing clients from your first month, so your results here don’t depend on prospecting
- Direct coaching from experienced advisors
- A collaborative office where the work is the point
- Real room to grow as the firm grows
How to apply
Send us your CV and a cover letter, along with a short case study of a file you’re proud of. Ideally one where, thanks to your guidance, a client obtained important insurance coverage they otherwise would not have thought to get. Tell us what was complicated about the case, what you caught, and how you handled it. Leave out anything that could identify the client.
Email your application, with the job title in the subject line. Our address is on the Contact page, behind a quick question that keeps out automated harvesters.
